Bowline 2 Turns

Form a loop in the working end of the rope as you would a bowline.

Form a second loop and lay it on top of the first loop.

Bring the working end up through both loops and in back of the standing partas if tying a bowline.

Bring the working end down through both loops and tighten the knot. As with the bowline, add a overhand knot for security.

Uses:

Safely attach a rope to a tree, post, ring or climber.

Advantages:

Safe as the Alpine butterfly.
Fast and easy to tie.
Uses little more rope than a regular bowline.
