Also know as: Double Hitch.


Uses:


  • Functions as a crossing knot.

Advantages:


  • Ability to tie with one hand.
  • The rope on either side of the htch can be adjusted without untying the rope.
  • Thinner ropes, with heavy loads can be difficult to untie.

Disadvantages:


  • Knot works loose over time if constant pressure is not maintained on the line.
  • Unreliable when tied to a rectangular or sqyare post.
